Lawrence Livermore National Lab, Bldg 419B


Shipment of contaminated debris from building demolition at DOE LLNL site in Livermore, CA.
  • Total of 70 containers were shipped in 30-day period.
  • Greenfield provided all containers, rail equipment, coordination, tracking and scheduling for the project.
  • Project was performed on schedule, and client was completely satisfied.

Fansteel Remediation

Shipment of contaminated soils from Muskogee, OK, to IUC in Blanding, UT.
  • Performed approximately 600 intermodal rail shipments.
  • Greenfield provided all rail equipment, coordination, tracking and scheduling for the project.
  • Project was performed at expected schedule (January 2006 through December 2008)
  • Client was completely satisfied.

Safety Light

Rail shipments of 6,000 cubic yards (300 container rail shipments) of contaminated building debris in three shipping campaigns.
  • Greenfield coordinated all truck drayage, rail car loading, rail equipment, shipment delivery and tracking.
  • Greenfield has expedited and mobilized the equipment twice to the facility.
  • Project size doubled due to additional materials found by client; additional shipments occurred periodically following the original scope of work.
  • Project was performed on schedule and within budget.

Cabot Chemical

Rail shipment of approximately 20,000 tons of contaminated soils from facility near Boyertown, PA, to Clive, UT.
  • Greenfield provided rail car loading, rail equipment, delivery and tracking.
  • Project recurs annually once to twice per year, originally performed in June 2004.
  • Project schedules have been completed on time and within budget each occurrence.

Los Alamos National Lab

Transportation Management contract for Radioactive and Hazardous Materials at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
  • Greenfield is teamed with TerranearPMC.
  • Team is providing all waste containers, transportation management, daily tracking, manifesting, shipping, truck and rail transport at the LANL site.
  • Project delivers waste to various disposal facilities in Utah, CO, and Nevada.
  • The scope of work entailed significant detail.
  • A solid Safety Plan and strict adherence to all Federal Regulations and Site Plans make this project a success.

Hunter's Point Naval Yard

Intermodal containers and project coordination for the shipment of waste materials from the excavation of Hunter's Point Naval Station in San Francisco, CA.
  • Project began in Spring 2007 with originally 50 containers; project has tripled in size to over 175 containers, often at short notice to meet shipping demands.
  • Equipment has consistently been provided to meet each shipping schedule for the project, regardless of changing requirements.

RACE, Inc., Nine-Mile Point Turbine Rotors

Rail transportation services for the movement of 3 turbine rotors from Oswego, NY, to Memphis, TN.
  • Rotors were 290,000 lbs, 13 feet in diameter and 35 feet in length
  • They were blocked and braced onto Heavy D flatcars.
  • Project was completed on-time and within budget.

Echo Bay Minerals Company

Transport of materials from Battle Mountain, NV, to an international smelter in Torreon, Mexico.
  • Trucks
  • International permits and extensive paperwork were required due to the international nature of the transport.
  • Greenfield completed the complex process quickly-completing the project on-time.

MACTEC, Inc.

Characterization, profiling and shipment of waste materials from Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Facility in Piketon, OH, to Energy Solutions in UT.
  • Greenfield prepared all project plans, characterized all project-generated wastes, and supervised packaging of the materials.
  • Client was completely satisfied.

Kaiser-Hill for DOE Rocky Flats Clean-up

Provision of nearly 150 IP-1-certified containers for the clean-up of contaminated materials at DOE Rocky Flats site in Colorado to Clive, UT.
  • Project materials included both low-level contaminated materials, as well as mixed hazardous and radioactive wastes.
  • Client and Government customer were completely satisfied.
  • Project was performed at expected schedule (January 2006 through December 2008)
  • Project was completed on-time and within budget.

Transport 16,200 cubic feet of low-level radioactive soils from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, TN, to Clive, UT.

  • Greenfield utilized gondola rail cars to transport the waste materials.
  • Greenfield developed all project plans, generated the waste manifests, and performed all required actions to ensure shipment compliance (properly classifying, marking, labeling, placarding, and completing both COT and NRC-required paperwork).
  • Greenfield completed the complex process quickly-completing the project on-time.
